Via Flickr:
The Archduke was the first restaurant and wine bar to open on the Southbank in 1979, and is instantly recognizable by its spectacular and award winning architecture. Carved from under the railway arches by Waterloo Station, it has become something of a London institution.

Jazz music also plays an integral role in creating The Archduke’s unique atmosphere. For the last 28 years Londoners and tourists alike have been able to enjoy live jazz six nights a week. Owing to this, visitors from the restaurant’s many famous neighbours - The London Eye, Royal Festival Hall, Hayward Gallery, National Film Theatre, The National Theatre and IMAX have found The Archduke to be an attraction in its own right.

Recently reenergized by new ownership The Archduke is an ideal meeting place for visitors to the Southbank. Somewhere not only to enjoy great food, wine and jazz, but also to soak up the vibrant atmosphere of a unique location.
